Jurrjens, Dickerson and Robinson talk about their injuries

SARASOTA, Fla. - Jair Jurrjens sat at his locker as reporters approached him this afternoon, which was no small feat. Jurrjens is still sore after being nailed in the right ribcage last night by a line drive from the Yankees' Thomas Neal. X-rays were negative, but Jurrjens is positive that he's in pain. "I feel really sore and a little bit stiff," he said. "I'm going to see how it feels after some treatment and see what game plan they have for me. "It's the same as last night. It's really stiff now. It's hard to sit down. I'll deal with it and whatever I need to do to get rid of it." Jurrjens would rather not dwell on the lost opportunity to make another good impression on the club. He faced only seven batters and was gone. "I can't say a lot about it," he said. "It is what it is and I'll deal with it. I'm trying to keep a positive mind and deal with it." He's also trying to find a comfortable position and get a good night's sleep. "None were comfortable," he said. "Just kept rolling over. I woke up at 5 o'clock." Outfielder Chris Dickerson had his right ankle heavily taped, but he's confident that he could play in the Orioles' game against the Rays tonight. Dickerson had to leave last night's game in the eighth inning after pulling up on a fly ball in the gap as he tried to avoid a collision with Conor Jackson. "I just flipped the Achilles a little bit," he said. "The ground was soft, it was cold and wet, and when I planted to make the backhand stop, it just kind of rolled to the side. I've done it before, like when you're playing basketball and you slip and it gets the back of that Achilles. I'll be back and doing everything today." Dickerson said he didn't fear the worst when his ankle rolled, and he didn't have X-rays. "Because I've done it before, it was like, 'OK, it's not a big deal,'" he said. "It hurts, but I don't think there's any structural damage." Outfielder Trayvon Robinson remains day-to-day with tightness in his lower back that returned yesterday after batting practice. "There's still a little discomfort and I want to be 100 percent," he said. "I feel like I was having a good spring. This is a minor setback and I don't want to go out and hurt myself worse. "I want to prove that I can play, and I've got to be cautious. I could go out and something worse could happen. I want to be ready for opening day, wherever I am." Dickerson and Robinson could be reassigned to Triple-A Norfolk, though the outfield is pretty crowded. Xavier Avery and LJ Hoes were optioned, and Lew Ford and Jason Pridie were reassigned. Russ Canzler, who also was optioned, can play the outfield. Jackson remains in camp but could be a late roster cut.
