Michael Gonzalez rejoins Nats on minor league deal (with Nats lineup)

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - The Nationals announced this morning that left-handed reliever Michael Gonzalez has rejoined the team on a minor league deal. I'd imagine Gonzalez will report to Triple-A Syracuse, although the team has not announced Gonzalez's assignment. Gonzalez, 35, was released by the Nats on Tuesday. He originally signed a minor league deal with the team early this month, and allowed four runs on seven hits over four Grapefruit League innings. The veteran lefty joined the Nats on a minor league deal back in 2012, and quickly worked his way up to the big leagues, where he became a solid contributor on the Nats' National League East championship team. With Jerry Blevins and Ross Detwiler serving as the Nats' lefties in the bullpen to begin the season, there wasn't a spot for Gonzalez. But along with Xavier Cedeno, he'll serve as left-handed relief depth that the Nats might call upon later in the season. Here is the Nationals' lineup for today's Grapefruit League finale against the Mets: 3B Anthony Rendon CF Denard Span RF Jayson Werth C Wilson Ramos LF Bryce Harper SS Ian Desmond 1B Adam LaRoche 2B Danny Espinosa RHP Jordan Zimmermann
