Nationals Chatter: Searching for a new spring training complex, use of a drone and fantasy outlook

Ah, springtime has arrived. Well, not here in the D.C. area, but in Viera, Fla. The Nationals began spring training last week, giving us baseball in our lives once again. Several publications have written about the Nationals over the last week. Read below for a national roundup. * The Nationals' search for a new spring training home as taken another turn. The Nats have asked former congressman Mark Foley of Florida to serve as a lobbyist for the Nationals. The team is said to be interested in four or five sites in Florida. For more information, read this piece from James Wagner of The Washington Post. * The Nationals' unusual way of capturing video during spring training has gained national attention. The Nationals are using a drone. Don't worry, big brother isn't watching you. The team is simply using the drone to fly over the Space Coast Stadium complex and take video from an aerial perspective. For pictures and and some video, click this link. It's pretty cool, check it out. I wouldn't be surprised if more teams use this tactic to capture video. * With spring training under way for almost a full week, CBS DC presents its list of "5 things to Know" in spring training. Not surprisingly, rookie skipper Matt Williams tops the list, which also features the second base competition and the starting rotation. * SI.com's Michael Beller provides a fantasy outlook for the 2014 Washington Nationals. Beller lists second baseman Anthony Rendon as his sleeper pick and Jordan Zimmermann as a bust. Interestingly enough, Ross Detwiler and Tanner Roark as listed as "guys to know." Both are in contention for the fifth starter's role. * Matt Snyder at CBSSports.com compiled his all-time single season team of Expos and Nationals players. Several current Nationals made the list, including Ian Desmond, Ryan Zimmerman and Gio Gonzalez. * Finally, the popular Netflix original series "House of Cards" returned this past Friday. I won't tell you how quickly I finished the season, but let me tell you it was a good one. In one episode, Kevin Spacey's character, Vice President Francis Underwood, throws out the first pitch at an Orioles game.
