Orioles agree with 10th-round draft pick

The Orioles have come to terms with their 10th-round draft pick, University of Virginia right-handed pitcher Tyler Wilson. He went 10-0 with an ERA of 2.24 this year as a senior for a Cavalier team that made the College World Series. The Orioles have now signed six of their top 10 picks getting pitchers Mike Wright (round three), Kyle Simon (round four), Matt Taylor (round five), Trent Howard (round seven) and Devin Jones (round nine) along with Wilson. They have come to terms with 15 picks overall. The 21-year-old Wilson was drafted in the 35th round last year, but did not sign with Cincinnati after going 8-4 with an ERA of 3.41 for Virginia in 31 games, all in relief. Wilson made 19 appearances this year, 16 starts and in 104 1/3 innings allowed 75 hits with 22 walks and 124 strikeouts. He gave up five homers and a .200 batting average against.
