Orioles rotation missing Feldman in San Francisco

The Orioles listed their starting pitchers for the three-game series against the San Francisco Giants that begins Friday at AT&T Park, and it doesn't include right-hander Scott Feldman. Chris Tillman is scheduled to face Ryan Vogelsong in the opener. Wei-Yin Chen will face Chad Gaudin on Saturday, and Bud Norris will face Matt Cain on Sunday. With off-days yesterday and Thursday, the Orioles could skip Feldman or just push him back. Feldman pitched Saturday against the Seattle Mariners, allowing five runs and seven hits while walking four batters in 4 2/3 innings in an 8-4 loss. He's surrendered nine runs and 13 hits, with six walks, in his last two starts covering 9 2/3 innings. Nick Markakis (.348) has the highest average in the history of interleague play with a minimum of 300 plate appearances, ranking ahead of Larry Walker (.346), Mike Piazza (.340) and Dustin Pedroia (.334). The Orioles are 10-6 against California teams this year, going 5-2 against the Angels, 3-1 against the Athletics, 2-1 against the Dodgers and 0-2 against the Padres. The 27th annual OriolesREACH Food and Funds Drive to benefit the Maryland Food Bank, held July 26-28 at Camden Yards, generated $34,271 in cash donations and 9,870 pounds of non-perishable food items. The 2013 food and cash donations far exceeded the 2012 totals of 4,000 pounds of food and $20,000. Pitcher Steve Johnson and infielder Danny Valencia have been added to Triple-A Norfolk's roster, with catchers Luis Exposito and Ronny Paulino going on the seven-day disabled list. The Orioles' player development department named Double-A Bowie right-hander Tyler Wilson the organization's minor league Pitcher of the Month and short-season Single-A Aberdeen outfielder Mike Yastrzemski Player of the Month. Wilson, a 10th-round pick in the 2011 First-Year Player Draft out of Virginia, was 3-1 with a 2.27 ERA in six July starts and is 8-2 with a 3.63 ERA in 22 starts between Single-A Frederick and Bowie. Yastrzemski, a 14th-round pick this year out of Vanderbilt and the grandson of Hall-of-Famer Carl Yastrzemski, batted .344/.438/.544 with 12 RBIs and 15 runs in July and is batting .321 with two homers and 13 RBI on the year.
