Orioles to host first-ever ice show at Ed Smith Stadium on December 20

Tickets On Sale This Saturday for "Ice on the Diamond - A Holiday Celebration" In a first for Sarasota's Ed Smith Stadium, the Orioles will present "Ice on the Diamond - A Holiday Celebration," a dazzling, holiday-themed show featuring world-class ice skaters on a specially engineered ice stage at the ballpark on Friday, December 20 at 7:00 p.m. The stadium will be decorated for the holidays, creating a festive backdrop to this family-friendly event that features a cast of skaters and comedic actors who have performed for audiences around the world. This event is part of the Orioles' "Arts in the Ballpark" initiatives, a series of arts and entertainment activities for the public at Ed Smith Stadium designed to appeal to a wide range of tastes and interests. Tickets for the event go on sale at 10:00 a.m. this Saturday, November 9, and may be purchased online at www.orioles.com/sarasota, by phone at 941-893-6300 or in person at the Ed Smith Stadium box office. Ticket prices range from $5 to $30, with a limited number of Gold Circle seats for $45. Children two and under, sitting on a parent's lap, are free. The show's cast includes a world-class team of national and international skaters. Soloists are Michael Chack, a U.S. national bronze medalist, and Erica Archambault, a U.S. junior national champion. Triple gold medalists Stephanie Kuban and John Hunt are the lead pair. The storyline is advanced by actors Joe Gnoffo and Casey Peterson as "elves" who narrate the show. Ensemble and specialty skaters include Greg Bonin, Ben Blandford, Dianna Ramos, Rachel Reynolds, and Freddy Hernandez. Jeb K. Rand, son of Sarasota residents Dr. Howard Rand and Nanci Rand, is the show's producer. A former nationally ranked pairs figure skater, he is president and executive producer of Las Vegas-based Rand Enterprises & Productions Inc. and has been involved in figure skating for over 30 years, producing or directing dozens of ice shows around the world. The Ed Smith Stadium box office is located at 2700 12th Street and is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m - 4:00 p.m. The box office is closed on Sundays and on Monday, November 11 in observance of Veteran's Day. Parking the night of the event is $5 in the East and North Lots, with a portion of proceeds supporting the Sarasota Y.
