In seven starts with Norfolk this season, McFarland went 2-2 with a 3.99 ERA in 29 1/3 innings.

Reliever Brian Matusz's hearing on his appeal of an eight-game suspension is scheduled for today in Houston, and the Orioles must be prepared to insert another southpaw into their bullpen in his absence.

Drake (Navy) made five relief appearances and struck out seven batters over 7 2/3 innings while compiling a 3.52 ERA. The Orioles brought him to the majors for the first time on May 23.

Drake surrendered three earned runs in his last two appearances covering 2 2/3 innings, with three walks and three strikeouts.
