NEW YORK - Outfielder Nolan Reimold won't make another appearance in this series after an examination in Baltimore today revealed a bulging disk in his back.
Reimold is taking a Medrol Dosepack to reduce the inflammation and could rejoin the team in Boston. There are no current plans to place him on the disabled list.
Reimold complained of a tingling sensation in his fingers after last night's 2-1 loss to the Yankees. He's previously received treatment and missed games due to stiffness in his neck, which most likely is related to the disk.
Also, Tsuyoshi Wada underwent a CT scan on his left elbow today as a follow-up to the MRI that he received from Dr. Lewis Yocum in California. The Orioles are waiting for a full report from Yocum, but Wada could decide to undergo ligament-reconstructive surgery.
Manager Buck Showalter indicated that he could tweak his rotation for the Boston series that begins Friday. The current starters are listed as Wei-Yin Chen, Tommy Hunter and Jason Hammel, but there will apparently be a change.
More to come.
