Scott and Jones go back-to-back

The Orioles gave Jeremy Guthrie a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning. Somebody pass the smelling salts. Luke Scott hit a two-run shot with two outs, the ball traveling an estimated 426 feet before landing on Eutaw St. Adam Jones followed with a drive that barely cleared the left field fence, but it also counted. Scott admired his shot, and Josh Beckett made sure the entire Orioles dugout knew that he didn't appreciate it. Plate umpire Fieldin Culbreth had to calm him down. Could get very interesting the next time Scott steps to the plate. This is the first time that the Orioles have hit back-to-back home runs since Aug. 21, 2010 (Ty Wigginton and Scott). It's the 53rd ball to land on Eutaw St., and the 23rd time by an Oriole. Scott has done it five times, tying Rafael Palmeiro for the team lead. It happened most recently on Sept. 1, 2009, when Scott connected off A.J. Burnett. Scott is 10-for-22 lifetime against Beckett, with three homers and seven RBIs. I wouldn't invite them to the same party.
