Snyder extends batting streak in Norfolk's loss

Brandon Snyder extended his batting streak to five games today with two hits and two runs scored in Triple-A Norfolk's 7-6 loss this afternoon at Indianapolis. Snyder is 7-for-22 with four RBIs during the hit streak and is now batting .288 on the season. He is hitting .353 with runners in scoring position and has an OPS of .876 through today's game. Nick Green added a three-run homer for the Tides and Tyler Henson knocked in two runs. Leadoff hitter Matt Angle went 0-for-5 to drop his average to .143. Angle is 3-for-25 over his last five games since returning to the lineup Saturday after missing several games with a hamstring injury. Single-A Frederick won this afternoon, 4-2 at Winston-Salem as Ryan O'Shea pitched well again, allowing just one run and five hits over seven innings. He is 2-1 with an ERA of 1.99 over four starts and has allowed one,one, two and one run in those outings. Trent Mummey had a triple and two steals, including one of home, for the Keys. He is 6-for-14 with five RBIs in his first three Keys' games. LJ Hoes, trying to get out of a slump, had two more hits today. He is 7-for-21 during a five-game batting streak that has raised his average from .140 to its current .203. Tonight, Rick Zagone will be on the mound for Double-A Bowie at Akron and Single-A Delmarva tries to extend its win streak to six games at home versus Savannah with right-hander Scott Copeland who is 1-0 with an ERA of 4.32 over three starts, on the mound.
