Swept away in Cleveland: O's losing streak reaches seven

The Orioles completed a winless road trip, going 0-5 in New York and Cleveland with one rain out. Things have gotten so bad for the Orioles that Koji Uehara even issued a walk in the 8th inning. In fact, he walked two batters in the frame. That was the first time he issued a walk since last July 16 and he fanned 46 consecutive batters since that time. He still pitched a scoreless inning. Cleveland improved to 11-4 with the sweep. The Orioles, who fall to 6-8 on the year, have scored just 17 runs during the losing streak and have scored three runs or fewer now seven times in 2011. They are 1-6 in those games. Cleveland took a 2-0 lead on Brad Bergesen with solo homers by Carlos Santana in the 2nd and Grady Sizemore in the 3rd. Bergesen gave up three runs, two earned, over five innings to take the loss. He is now 0-2 with an ERA of 3.38.
