Taking a look at tonight's pitching matchup

Having lost four of their last five games, the Orioles will try to straighten out tonight against a knuckleball pitcher.

Consider it the latest challenge in a young season.

Blue Jays right-hander R.A. Dickey is 2-6 with a 3.93 ERA in 14 outings (11 starts) against the Orioles. He's 1-3 with a 3.09 ERA in six outings (five starts) at Camden Yards.

Manny Machado is 5-for-16 with two doubles, Chris Davis is 6-for-25 with two doubles and two home runs, and Pedro Alvarez is 2-for-12.

Alvarez is off to a slow start with the Orioles, going 4-for-28 with a double, seven walks and six strikeouts.

Machado will try to extend his hitting streak to 13 games. His career high is 14 games from June 2-16, 2013.

Dickey has made three starts this season, going 1-2 with a 6.75 ERA and 1.909 WHIP in 14 2/3 innings. He hasn't worked more than five innings.

Ubaldo Jimenez is the only Orioles starter to complete seven innings. He's 6-4 with a 3.89 ERA in 13 career outings (12 starts) against Toronto.

The current Blue Jays are batting .200 (37-for-185) against Jimenez.

Jose Bautista is 2-for-30 with seven strikeouts, Justin Smoak is 2-for-20 with a home run and 10 strikeouts, Josh Donaldson is 2-for-17 with eight strikeouts and Edwin Encarnacion is 6-for-32 with three doubles and a home run.
