#TBT to "Nationals Classics": Homers, walk-offs and a no-no

OK, let's admit it. You weren't done watching baseball and fully expected the Nationals to be playing in the postseason deep into October.

We get it. We're right there with you. And baseball withdrawal is a legit medical condition that deserves a lot more attention than it receives.

Yes, you can tune to the National League Championship Series beginning on Friday. But that doesn't solve your Nationals fix, does it?

Luckily, we can. Yes, it's time for another offseason of "Nationals Classics" on MASN. Throughout the fall and winter, we'll turn back to the clock to some of the most memorable moments in Nationals history each week. So set your DVRs accordingly and prepare to relive some of the biggest blasts and most impressive pitching performances this side of the Anacostia River.

This week's offerings include a spate of home runs - including a couple of appearances of Mr. Walk-Off himself - and a franchise first from the mound. Enjoy!

Thursday, Oct. 11, 1 p.m. - The Nationals prevailed over the Marlins in the season opener on April 1, 2013, thanks to a pair of Bryce Harper homers and 19 straight outs by right-hander Stephen Strasburg.

Friday, Oct. 12, 9 a.m. - Wilson Ramos came up big, stroking a pinch-hit walk-off single on May 4, 2012 to help the Nationals to a 4-3 victory over the Phillies in 11 innings.

Monday, Oct. 15, 1 p.m. - When you need a walk-off homer, you call on Ryan Zimmerman, whose second homer of the game, a solo shot off Luke Gregerson leading off the last of the ninth, provided the Nats a 6-5 triumph over the Padres on July 6, 2010.

Tuesday, Oct. 16, 9 a.m. - Zimmerman struck again on July 31, 2010 against the Phillies, this time clouting a three-run walk-off blast, erasing a 5-4 Phillies lead at Nationals Park.

Tuesday, Oct. 16, 7 p.m. - Talk about finishing with a flourish! On the final day of the 2014 season, right-hander Jordan Zimmerman tossed the first no-hitter in Nationals history, dispatching the Marlins. It's always fun to watch a no-hitter all the way to the finish, but make sure you catch the game-ending grab that sealed the no-no.

Wednesday, Oct. 17, 1 p.m. - Who doesn't like beating the Orioles? Adam Dunn made sure the Nationals won this May 24, 2009 interleague matchup, driving in six runs on a pair of homers, one of them a grand slam, in an 8-5 win.
