The Nationals' camp roster

My remaining hours in the mid-Atlantic region are dwindling. I leave for Viera, Fla., and Nationals spring training tomorrow morning, meaning today is my final day to run errands, pay bills and pack seven weeks' worth of clothes into two suitcases. OK, so there's a laundry room in my hotel, and I don't actually need seven weeks' worth of clothes. But I really hate doing laundry, and as a result, I'm a self-admitted over-packer. I'm also a self-admitted procrastinator, leaving me with lots of packing to do today. Just to remind everyone of all the pertinent dates we're dealing with here, Nationals pitchers and catchers are expected to report to Space Coast Stadium and big league camp by Tuesday, Feb. 12. The first official workout for those guys will take place the following day. Position players are expected to report by Feb. 15, with the first full-squad workout scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 16. The Nationals will have 52 players in big league camp once everyone has reported. Of those 52, 39 are on the 40-man roster, and 13 are non-roster invitees. Yes, there is still a spot open on the 40-man roster. Here are the guys on the 40-man who we will see in camp: Pitchers: 36 Tyler Clippard -- Erik Davis 48 Ross Detwiler 30 Zach Duke 56 Christian Garcia 47 Gio Gonzalez -- Dan Haren -- Nathan Karns 65 Cole Kimball 52 Ryan Mattheus 29 Yunesky Maya 45 Ryan Perry 50 Matt Purke 63 Henry Rodriguez -- Rafael Soriano 35 Craig Stammen 22 Drew Storen 37 Stephen Strasburg 27 Jordan Zimmermann Catchers: 41 Sandy Leon 3 Wilson Ramos 23 Jhonatan Solano 24 Kurt Suzuki Infielders: 20 Ian Desmond 8 Danny Espinosa 25 Adam LaRoche 1 Steve Lombardozzi 14 Chris Marrero -- Anthony Rendon 19 Carlos Rivero 18 Chad Tracy 11 Ryan Zimmerman Outfielders: 2 Roger Bernadina 10 Corey Brown 34 Bryce Harper 57 Tyler Moore 55 Eury Perez -- Denard Span 28 Jayson Werth The jersey numbers you see here are the ones listed on the Nationals' official site, but we know that Span will wear No. 2, Bernadina will switch to No. 33 and Ramos will now wear No. 40. Moore will also switch from his previous number, which seemed more appropriate for an NFL linebacker than a major leaguer, and will wear No. 12. I'll be happy to officially report the numbers of the Nationals' free agent additions and the minor leaguers that are in big league camp once I'm down in Viera. Here are the non-roster invitees, guys that will be looking to make a name for themselves in camp and crack the 25-man opening day roster: Pitchers: Fernando Abad Jeremy Accardo Bill Bray Brandon Mann Patrick McCoy Ross Ohlendorf Tanner Roark Catchers: Carlos Maldonado Chris Snyder Infielders: Micah Owings Will Rhymes Matt Skole Zach Walters It's only a matter of hours until spring training is under way. A long offseason is nearly over, and a defense of a National League East title is nearly under way.
