Tyler Moore and Brad Peacock named Eastern League postseason All-Stars

Double-A Harrisburg Senators first baseman Tyler Moore and current Triple-A Syracuse Chiefs right-hander Brad Peacock have been named to the Eastern League All-Star team. Moore has batted .269 with 29 doubles, four triples, 28 home runs and 81 RBIs in 126 games this season. Nationals director of player development Doug Harris said while Moore's numbers have been off the charts he has also worked very hard on his fielding at first base. "He had a tremendous year," Harris said. "His power numbers speak for themselves and Tyler is showing signs of making strides defensively. He has a legit power bat." Peacock went 10-2 with a 2.01 ERA for the Senators, striking out 129 batters and allowing a measly .179 batting average against. Harris said Peacock's numbers stand out even more vividly considering he played only 60 percent of his season at the Double-A level. "A lot of people deserve credit, including Brad himself, for the year that he has had," Harris said. "Pitching coaches top to bottom in our system have helped him. He is making himself a complete pitcher who has more than just good stuff." It looks like Moore will make the step to Syracuse next season and Peacock could even get a few turns in September with the Nationals when they expand rosters. Both are shining examples of how far the system has come in the just three seasons.
