Updating MRIs on Chris Lee and Austin Hays (plus more notes)

SARASOTA, Fla. - An MRI administered this morning confirmed that Orioles left-hander Chris Lee sustained an injury to his right oblique muscle and he's expected to be sidelined at least four weeks.

Lee wasn't expected to break camp with the team, but the injury totally eliminates the possibility.

Outfielder Craig Gentry, out with a sore left hamstring, won't play again before Monday's off-day. Manager Buck Showalter said it's being done as a precaution.

Though they're listed on today's lineup card, it's more likely that Pedro Álvarez, Jaycob Brugman and Éngelb Vielma make their first appearances on Thursday against the Rays in Port Charlotte.

Catcher Andrew Susac has been cleared to play.

Reliever Brad Brach's first appearance this spring is "right around the corner," Showalter said.

Miguel Castro will work two innings in Friday morning's B game against the Pirates on Field 4.

Rule 5 pick Nestor Cortes Jr. makes the start Thursday against the Rays in Port Charlotte. He's opposing right-hander Jake Faria.

Dylan Bundy starts Friday against the Pirates' Tyler Glasnow in Sarasota.

Former Orioles catcher Francisco Peña made the trip today with the Cardinals, but pitcher Bud Norris stayed back in Jupiter. The Orioles wanted to re-sign Peña to a minor league deal.
