The Orioles have expanded their roster by one player today, recalling infielder Breyvic Valera from Triple-A Norfolk.
They still have two openings on the 40-man roster.
Valera, acquired from the Dodgers in the Manny Machado trade, was 1-for-4 with an RBI in his only game with the Orioles. He was batting .229/.310/.364 in 38 games with the Tides.
The Orioles have an extra utility infielder with Valera joining Jace Peterson.
John Andreoli gets the start in left field tonight as the Orioles continue their series against the Royals in Kansas City.
Rookie Austin Wynns is catching Dylan Bundy, who's 1-1 with a 5.87 ERA and 1.370 WHIP in four career games (three starts) against the Royals.
Cedric Mullins remains atop the order after hitting a leadoff home run last night. Trey Mancini continues to serve as the designated hitter.
Alex Gordon is 2-for-6 lifetime against Bundy.
The Royals are starting rookie right-hander Heath Fillmyer, who's posted a 4.21 ERA and 1.383 WHIP in 12 games, including eight starts. He's averaging 4.4 walks and 5.3 strikeouts per nine innings.
None of the Orioles have faced Fillmyer.
