Wesley Wright headed to DL (with Jays lineup)

The Orioles will place reliever Wesley Wright on the 15-day disabled list today due to pain behind his left shoulder and neck area that's believed to be related to his trapezius muscle.

Wright informed the team last night that he's been experiencing pain for the past few days. Team orthopedist Dr. Michael Jacobs examined him this afternoon and recommended a stint on the disabled list.

The Orioles will recall a pitcher from Triple-A Norfolk, expected to be knuckleballer Eddie Gamboa if he can make his flight. Gamboa would be sent back down once a position player - most likely outfielder David Lough - is ready to come off the DL.

Lough will begin an injury-rehab assignment Sunday at Single-A Frederick and it's not expected to last long. The Keys have a 2 p.m. game on Sunday.

Catcher Matt Wieters took batting practice from both sides of the plate today in Sarasota. He's scheduled to catch BP on Sunday and throw from 120 feet.

Infielder Jimmy Paredes, on the DL with a lower back strain, will play Monday in Fort Myers.

Right-hander Hunter Harvey, who went on the minor league DL with a slight fracture of his left shin, made 50 throws from 60 feet today.
