Wieters: "Everyone in the lineup believes in what they can do."

As the Orioles continue to struggle to score runs, the players tend to preach patience and say it is not time for them to make any drastic changes in their approach. "I don't think you can really change anything," catcher Matt Wieters said. "It's still early. Not everyone is swinging like they want to right now, but the big thing is, you can't press and that you believe in your ability. I think everyone in this lineup believes in what they can do." The Orioles scored just seven runs in the Cleveland series and have scored only 17 runs during a seven-game losing streak. "I think we all believe in what this lineup can do one through nine. I don't think anyone feels that just two or three guys have to step up and do it. We have some vets who have been through ups and downs in their whole career and it can be calming around guys like that," Wieters said. As for his own offense, Wieters has just three hits over his last 26 at bats and only three extra-base hits on the season. He recently made a change with his batting stance, standing more upright in the batter's box. "I didn't get a lot of hits on the road trip but I've felt good and hit more balls on the barrel. I feel more comfortable at the plate which is big. This game is funny, even when you are feeling good you don't always get hits," he said. Wieters is batting .205 in 12 games with two doubles, one homer, 4 RBI and an OPS of .621 right now.
