Wild weekend in Washington

If you blinked over the weekend, you probably missed something. Between a series sweep, a couple of career milestones (and Gatorade showers to go along with them) and MASN's Social Media Weekend, this weekend was one to remember at Nats Park. The Nationals entered their weekend series against the Phillies with a four-game losing streak, but behind Dan Haren's quality start and some lively bats, the Nats broke the streak with a 9-2 win Friday. Saturday, the Nationals came from behind to get the 8-5 win. Jayson Werth recorded his 1,000th career hit with a go-ahead two-run home run. Of course, during his postgame interview, Werth was congratulated with a Gatorade shower. With a series sweep on the line, Stephen Strasburg took the mound on Sunday. Holding the Philles to just four hits, Strasburg threw his first career complete-game shutout to lead the Nats to a 9-0 victory. Another career milestone called for another Gatorade shower, leaving Strasburg drenched during his postgame interview. The Nationals weren't the only ones winning at Nats Park this weekend. MASN's Social Media Weekend, styled by the Hair Cuttery, gave fans a chance to win awesome prizes. All weekend long, we gave our Facebook, Instagram, mobile and Twitter followers opportunities to win autographed jerseys, balls and bats, seat/suite upgrades and MASN t-shirts.
