Following today's game, the Washington Nationals optioned left-handed pitcher Atahualpa Severino to Syracuse of the Triple-A International League. Nationals Senior Vice President and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement.
Severino, 25, did not make any appearances during his three-game stint with the Nationals.
The Orioles announced today that they have recalled LHP Troy Patton from Triple-A Norfolk.
Patton was in uniform for Baltimore on July 21 against Tampa Bay, but did not see action and was optioned to Norfolk that night.
With the Tides, Patton went 7-9 with a 4.80 ERA (108.2IP, 58ER) in 20 starts. Patton will look to make his first major league appearance since 2007 with Houston.
Patton will wear number 40.
