Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper had a tremendous Super Bowl week. Harper rubbed elbows with some big names in the sports and entertainment world over the weekend and chronicled many of the moments on his Instagram account. Bryan Harper, a Nationals farmhand, accompanied his brother throughout his desert odyssey.
Bryce Harper's week in Arizona began at Nationals manager Matt Williams' house for the Big Game, Big Give fundraiser on Saturday night. Williams, who played six years for the Diamondbacks, and wife Erika hosted the invitation-only event at their 20,000-square-foot home along with actor/producer Mark Wahlberg and "Transformers" director Michael Bay.
According to USA Today, the event raised more than $1.1 million for the Giving Back Fund, the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation and Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix. The all-VIP guest list included U.S. Sen. John McCain, U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake and Arizona Cardinals owner Michael Bidwell. Former "American Idol" winner Jordin Sparks performed at the event.

Harper's super weekend continued Saturday night at Gatorade's 50th anniversary party, where he mingled with the likes of Michael Jordan, Peyton Manning, Derek Jeter and Usain Bolt.
Harper also shared some time at the party with Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III.
And, of course, last night Harper attended Super Bowl XLIX, where he was particularly interested in Katy Perry's halftime performance. A caption accompanying pictures of Perry's performance said, "All I want is that Lion she came in on..ROAR!"
Quite a weekend for the Nats' young star. Harper and his teammates are due in Viera, Fla., for spring training later this month.
