Frandsen starts at second base vs. Cueto

CINCINNATI - With the Nationals facing another right-handed starter today, Matt Williams isn't using either of his switch-hitting options at second base.

Instead, right-handed-hitting Kevin Frandsen gets the start at second with the Nats taking on Reds righty Johnny Cueto.

Zach Walters started at second base yesterday against a righty, going 1-for-4 with an RBI double, and Danny Espinosa also could give the Nats a left-handed bat in the lineup today because of his switch-hitting ability. But Frandsen gets the call today.

Gio Gonzalez will take the ball for the Nats this afternoon after going just 3 1/3 innings his last time out in a game against the Brewers.

For the Nats:

CF Denard Span
3B Anthony Rendon
RF Jayson Werth
1B Adam LaRoche
SS Ian Desmond
LF Bryce Harper
C Wilson Ramos
2B Kevin Frandsen
LHP Gio Gonzalez

For the Reds:

LF Chris Heisey
2B Skip Schumaker
C Brayan Pena
