The last meeting between the Nationals and Giants was rather eventful. If you've forgotten, it involved Hunter Strickland, Bryce Harper and a three-year-old beef. That series took place way back on Memorial Day in San Francisco, and a lot has changed since then. So will there be any reason for any carryover this weekend? I've got to think probably not. What good does it do the Nationals, 15 games up in the division and trying to get everybody healthy for October, to instigate shenanigans?
Edwin Jackson starts tonight for the Nats, and he wasn't even part of the organization back in late May, so he may not even know what happened. The veteran right-hander has now made four starts since joining the club last month. Two have been excellent, two have not. We'll see which version shows up tonight.
Dusty Baker has everybody back in the lineup tonight, with Daniel Murphy (hip) and Anthony Rendon (sick) good to go. Adam Lind is starting in left field against Giants right-hander Chris Stratton, so we don't know yet if Howie Kendrick is still dealing with a back issue, or if this matchup just made more sense.
