Game 152 lineups: Nats at Braves

ATLANTA - At this late stage of the season, most matchups against division opponents are going to feature familiar foes on the mound. And tonight is about as extreme an example as it gets: The Nationals are facing R.A. Dickey for the fifth time this year.

The ageless knuckleballer has been one of the few constants in the Braves rotation, but this hasn't been a very good matchup for him. In his four previous starts against the Nats, he's 0-2 with a 5.92 ERA, having surrendered five homers in 24 1/3 innings. Dickey, to be fair, was much better in his most recent outing against them, allowing only one run in seven innings on July 7 (though that was a far different lineup he faced that night, with Brian Goodwin and Ryan Raburn serving as the Nats' 1-2 hitters).

Roark-Throws-Red-Sidebar.jpgThe familiarity goes both ways tonight, because Tanner Roark is facing Atlanta for the fourth time in 2017 (three of them starts). In a pattern that follows his overall trajectory this season, Roark was roughed up for seven runs in five innings on June 14 but was better in relief on July 8, and then beat the Braves last week with two runs in six innings.
