And we're back. The Nationals got an unexpected (but probably needed) night off with Monday's postponement (rain optional) so now they're rested and refreshed for tonight's delayed start of a four-game series with the Rockies. They better have caught up on their sleep, though, because they've now got to play four games in the span of about 51 hours.
It begins tonight with Stephen Strasburg (tonight's originally scheduled starter for the Nationals) against Peter Lambert (Monday's originally scheduled starter for the Rockies). Strasburg will actually be trying to pitch better than he did in his last outing (three runs on eight hits in 5 1/3 innings against the Braves), but he can't possibly be any better than he was at the plate (3-for-3, homer, five RBIs). Right?
Davey Martinez will go with the same lineup he intended to use Monday against Lambert. That includes Yan Gomes, who will catch Strasburg, not Kurt Suzuki.
