Grab a brownie, a glass of chocolate milk or a candy bar and take a seat. National Chocolate Day - one of the sweetest holidays for the Washington Nationals - is here and it's time to party.
A tradition born earlier in the season thanks to ace Max Scherzer, the star of the game was doused in chocolate sauce after a walk-off or during his postgame interview.
The results: a spike in sideline reporter Dan Kolko's dry cleaning bill, globs of sticky syrup in players' hair and pure jubilation.
Let's recap some of the best chocolate moments of 2015:
April 28
It all started in the first month of the season. The Nationals mounted the largest comeback in franchise history, capped off with Dan Uggla's three-run homer in the ninth, and took down the rival Braves 13-12.
May 9
Bryce Harper doing Bryce Harper-esque things. His walk-off homer led the Nats to an 8-6 win over the Braves and one of the sweetest victory photos we've ever seen.
May 29
Facing the most dominant closer in the game in the 10th inning of a 6-6 game against the Yankees, Ryan Zimmerman dug in to face Andrew Miller. On the fifth pitch of the at-bat, Zimmerman sent the fans home happy, belting a two-run walk-off homer.
June 14
At this moment, Nationals fans who they had someone truly special on their hands had their suspicions confirmed. Scherzer dominated the Brewers, throwing a one-hitter while striking out 16 batters.
June 20
The dominance continued against a tough Pirates team in Scherzer's next start. One out away from perfection, the right-hander went on to throw the second no-hitter in Nationals history. Cue the chocolate.
June 24
Ian Desmond's struggles were well-documented this season, but he came through with a huge sac fly in the 11th to plate Harper and beat the Braves. His teammates came armed with chocolate sauce to mob the veteran.
Sept. 26
It took 12 innings for a cocoa celebration, but Harper proved how clutch he was with a walk-off double to give the Nats a 2-1 victory over the Phillies.
These are some of our favorite chocolate-related moments of the season. What's your favorite chocolate sauce memory?
