Nationals agree to terms with fourth-round pick Kylin Turnbull, two others

The Washington Nationals tonight agreed to terms with Santa Barbara City College left-handed pitcher Kylin Turnbull, their fourth-round (127th overall) selection in the 2011 First-Year Player Draft. Additionally, the Nationals have agreed to terms with left-handed pitcher Bryan Harper (30th round) and outfielder Billy Burns (32nd round). To date, the Nationals have agreed to terms with 25 players from this year's Draft. Nationals Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo, Nationals Assistant General Manager & Vice President of Player Personnel Roy Clark and Nationals Director of Scouting Kris Kline made the joint announcements. Turnbull went 5-2 with a 2.47 ERA, four complete games and two shutouts in 11 starts last season with Santa Barbara CC. The 21-year-old posted 92 strikeouts and just 17 walks in 80.0 innings pitched in 2011 en route to being named First-Team All-Western State Conference. The 6-foot-5, 200 lbs. pitcher went 6-4 with one save and a 2.83 ERA in 25 games/11 starts during his two seasons at SBCC, recording 109 strikeouts in 98.2 innings pitched. Turnbull was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 2010 First-Year Player Draft but did not sign.
