The Nationals will face Dodgers right-hander Zack Greinke without the services of Bryce Harper. Harper, the National League's home run leader, was scratched from tonight's lineup with soreness in his left knee.
The Dodgers have lost four straight, not winning since Greinke last took the mound on Aug. 6 in Philadelphia. Greinke, the NL's Cy Young favorite, had his worst start of the year that night, surrendering six runs over six innings while taking his 11th win of the season.
Nationals rookie right-hander Joe Ross will make his eighth start of the year. The 22-year-old is 3-3 with a 2.80 ERA. He has fanned 47 while walking only four over 45 innings.
Wilson Ramos is behind the plate for Ross tonight. Ramos has hit safely in five of his last six games, batting .304 (7-for-23) with seven RBIs over the stretch.
Ryan Zimmerman looks to tie his own team record by driving in a run in his ninth consecutive game tonight. In 14 games since coming off the DL, Zimmerman is hitting .333 (16-for-48) with four homers, seven doubles and 11 RBIs.
