Nationals place Mattheus on D.L.

The Washington Nationals today placed right-handed pitcher Ryan Mattheus (right shoulder strain) on the 15-Day Disabled List. Nationals Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement.
Mattheus, 27, is 2-2 with six holds and a 2.40 ERA in 32 relief appearances this season with Washington.
