Nationals place Ross Detwiler on disabled list with back strain

The Washington Nationals today placed left-handed pitcher Ross Detwiler on the 15-Day Disabled List, retroactive to July 4, with a low back strain. Nationals Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement. Detwiler, 27, is 2-7 with a 4.04 ERA in 13 starts with Washington this season.
