The Washington Nationals have renewed their working agreement with Angela T. Gordon, MPT, ATC, retaining her as the team's physical therapist. Nationals Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement.
Gordon provides comprehensive outpatient physical therapy services for the Washington Nationals' players, covering the team's pre-season evaluations in Florida and 40 home games during the regular baseball season. Among the job requirements, Gordon identifies players at risk for chronic injury and develops programs for at-risk players, making program modifications needed to maintain a level of physical excellence for the Nationals' players.
Gordon has more than 10 years of clinical experience. She earned her Masters of Physical Therapy from Andrews University in Dayton, Ohio, and is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Science and Certification of Orthopedic Manual Therapy from Andrews University in Michigan. Gordon is the clinic director and outpatient orthopedist rehabilitation specialist at Patriot Sportsmedicine, a Physiotherapy Associates Company in Alexandria, Virginia.
Gordon has worked closely with numerous Major League Baseball, Canadian Football League and European basketball players. Additionally, she works with many high school and collegiate female athletes and sports extensive experience in ACL prevention and the female athlete triad.
As the owner and creator of F.A.S.T.â„¢ (Female Athlete Sports Training program), Gordon oversees a cadre of clinicians throughout the East Coast. She is an active educator with the George Mason University athletic training department, and has taught multiple continuing education courses for physical therapists on various topics, including: the sacroiliac joint, ACL prevention and rehabilitation, rotator cuff rehabilitation, and The Throwing Athlete.
