It was a slow week on social media for the Nationals, which must mean we are getting closer to spring training. The guys are probably busy getting their affairs in order, planning their workouts for the next two weeks and setting their packing checklist before heading out for Viera, Fla.
However, it seems that we do have some guys who are too eager and are already down by Space Coast Stadium.

Now they may not be staying there over the next two weeks, especially Clint Robinson who doesn't have to report until Feb. 23, but their excitement is enough to make me excited for baseball!
Meanwhile, Gio Gonzalez and Aaron Barrett report on Feb. 18 with Felipe Rivero. Gonzalez and Barrett posted videos on their social media accounts of their first throwing sessions in preparation for spring training, which is espcially good to see from Barrett who is coming off Tommy John surgery.

MASN's Dan Kolko and F.P. Santangelo are working out, so to speak, for spring training as well ... by studying players' cleats.

Looks like our guys have some more studying to do before pitchers and catchers report. Thirteen days, boys.
And I'll just leave you this week with this, conisdering how close we're getting to baseball and that I've been on a Frank Sinatra kick lately.

Bonus: It's National Wear Red Day! Be sure to wear red today not only to show your love for the Nats, but also to raise awareness about heart disease and strokes in women.
