Wilson Ramos is heading back to the disabled list yet again.
Manager Davey Johnson told reporters in Los Angeles that Ramos injured his left hamstring in tonight's 3-1 loss to the Dodgers, the same hamstring that Ramos strained back in April.
The Nationals' opening day catcher missed 15 games with the hamstring injury the first time around. He returned to action April 30 in Atlanta but played in just eight contests before injuring the hamstring again.
This time, he'll likely be out a while longer, according to Johnson.
Ramos has had a really rough last couple years. He was kidnapped in his native Venezuela in the winter of 2011, then missed most of last season after tearing the ACL and meniscus in his right knee. He rehabbed hard this offseason and was behind the plate for the Natson opening day, but now will see the DL twice before we've even hit June.
The guy is due for a lengthy string of good luck.
Ramos went 2-for-2 tonight, doubling in the second inning and singling in the fourth. It's unclear when he re-injured the hamstring, but he was clearly hurting while running down the first base line after the fourth-inning single and had to leave the game.
Ross Detwiler, meanwhile, suffered some spasms in his lower back while reaching for a throw covering first base, Johnson told reporters.
Detwiler's injury is not thought to be too serious, per Johnson.
The left-hander left after three innings of work tonight. He allowed two runs on six hits, walking two and striking out none.
