Relive "Nationals Classics": Wild finishes and pitching gems

How's everyone feeling post-Thanksgiving? Were you able to walk off some of those extra pounds gained on Thursday?

Well if you weren't able to, I've got some good news for you baseball fans: We are officially one week away from the Winter Meetings at National Harbor!

MASN is leading you up to baseball's big offseason event in our own backyard with a jam-packed week of Nationals walk-offs and pitching gems.

Take a look at this week's "Nationals Classics" schedule on MASN:

Monday, Nov. 28, 9 a.m. - Yunel Escobar was only in a Nationals uniform for one season, but was able to deliver a season in which he finished sixth in the National League with a .314 batting average. And on April 21, 2015, Escobar was able to lift the Nationals to a 2-1 win over the Cardinals with his walk-off home run in the 10th inning.

Tuesday, Nov. 29, 12 p.m. - After a couple of seasons in which the Battle of the Beltways has been played in the later months of the baseball season, the Nationals will take on their rivals from up the Baltimore-Washington Parkway in May this upcoming season. This rivalry series was usually played that early in the season many moons ago, and on May 23, 2010, Josh Willingham sent the Orioles home losers with a walk-off homer.

Wednesday, Nov. 30, 12:30 p.m. - Walk-off home runs are always crazy ways to win a game. But you can't get much wilder than walking off via a wild pitch. The Nationals opened the 2012 season in D.C. on April 12 by walking off the Reds 3-2 when Ryan Zimmerman scored on Alfredo Simon's wild pitch.

Wednesday, Nov. 30, 7 p.m. - Stephen Strasburg was having the best season of his career in 2016 until it was cut short by injuries. Through the first half of the season, he went a major league-best 13-0. And one of Strasburg's best performances came on July 3, when he threw 6 2/3 innings of no-hit ball against the Reds to improve to 11-0.

Thursday, Dec. 1, 11:30 a.m. - But we've seen dominant performances from Strasburg before this season. To open the season on April 1, 2013, Strasburg retired 19 consecutive Marlins at Nationals Park. Meanwhile, Bryce Harper added to his opening day legacy by crushing two home runs, becoming the youngest player with two longballs on opening day, as these young stars led the Nats to a 2-0 win over the Fish.

Sunday, Dec. 4, 4:30 p.m. - Jordan Zimmermann will always be remembered as the first Nationals pitcher to throw a no-hitter. But we saw flashes of his dominance before he made history. On April 26, 2013, Zimmermann threw a complete-game one-hit shutout against the Reds at Nats Park.
