Strasburg filthy, Ramos homers (updated)

I mean filthy in a good way. Stephen Strasburg has been in a zone through the first five innings of tonight's game, allowing three hits and striking out four Astros. Three of the four strikeouts have been by way of the curveball, which has been especially nasty tonight. Strasburg is getting great bite on the curve, and is buckling Astros hitters' knees with his offspeed stuff. He's needed just 61 pitches to get through the five innings and is showing no signs - zero - of wear after throwing a career-high 108 pitches his last time out in a win over the Mets. The Nationals have given Strasburg two runs of support so far, with one coming in the third inning and one in the fourth. Ian Desmond got the Nats on the board when he came around from second on Steve Lombardozzi's bunt single and subsequent throwing error by Astros starter Kyle Weiland. Wilson Ramos then smacked a 2-1 pitch from Weiland into the seats in right-center an inning later, giving the Nats a 2-0 lead. It's Ramos' first home run of the season. Steve Lombardozzi is now 3-for-3 today, getting just his second start of the season in place of Danny Espinosa. Update: The Astros pushed across two runs off Strasburg in the top of the sixth, tying this game at 2-2. Strasburg loaded the bases with nobody out in the sixth, but nearly got out of the jam by retiring Carlos Lee and Travis Buck and getting ahead of Chris Johnson 1-2, putting him within a strike of ending the inning. But the Astros third baseman ripped a two-run single to right, knotting the score.
