We're scoreless in Atlanta (Nats win 4-1)

The Nationals and Braves had to wait three hours and 47 minutes to play baseball tonight; in return, we've seen a pretty decent pitching matchup between Tanner Roark and Aaron Harang. Neither pitcher has allowed a run through three innings of work. Roark has allowed three hits, walked one and struck out two, while Harang has allowed two hits, walked one and struck out one. It appears the rain delay did not bother either pitcher. Update: Denard Span extended his on-base streak to 35 games with a two-out triple in the top of the fifth. It was Span's sixth triple of the season. Asdrubal Cabrera then followed with a walk, but Anthony Rendon grounded out to shortstop to end the inning. We're still scoreless at the end of five innings. Update II: Adam LaRoche lead off the top of the sixth with a solo homer to give the Nats a 1-0 lead. One out later, Bryce Harper checked his swing and was seen flexing his surgically repaired hand. Matt Williams and the training staff came out to check on Harper, but he stayed in the game and singled to left. He was doubled off one batter later when Ramos flew out to center. Update III: The Braves loaded the bases in the bottom of the sixth and tied the game on a Jason Heyward sacrifice fly. Roark retired the next two batters he faced to end the inning. We head to the seventh inning tied 1-1. Update IV: We're headed to extra innings as the score is still tied 1-1. Roark pitched seven innings, allowed six hits, one earned run, walked three and struck out six. Update V: The Nats broke the game open in the top of the 11th. Rendon and LaRoche hit back-to-back singles to get the inning started. One out later, Harper walked to load the bases. Ramos then singled to center to score Rendon. Kevin Frandsen then doubled to right field to score LaRoche and Harper. Ramos was out trying to score at the plate. Jayson Werth pinch-hit with two outs and Steven Souza Jr. ran for him. Werth and Souza had both previously been held out of the game due to various injuries. We head to the bottom of the ninth with the Nats leading 4-1. Update VI: Rafael Soriano came in to work the ninth. He retired the first two batters he faced, but Bonifacio singled with two outs. Soriano closed out the win for his 26th save of the year. The Nats improve to 63-52 on the season.
