Werth back taking batting practice (with Nats lineup)

Still no Nationals lineup just yet, as the team could yet again be checking on Ian Desmond's status before setting their starting nine for tonight's game against the Mets. While we wait on the Nats lineup, I've got some good news to pass along on Jayson Werth, who is currently taking part in some early batting practice along with Chad Tracy. This is the first time I've seen Werth taking BP since suffering a broken wrist back in early May. Manager Davey Johnson said yesterday he expected Werth to get cleared to take part in baseball activities, and apparently that's gone as planned. Johnson, GM Mike Rizzo, hitting coach Rick Eckstein and trainer Lee Kuntz are all on hand to watch Werth and Tracy take some cuts. Werth looks to be swinging free and easy, and has cleared the wall in both left and center with some mammoth drives. He looks to be in pretty good shape. Tracy's rehab from groin surgery was put on hold a week and a half ago when he felt discomfort getting out of the box during a game at Single-A Potomac. He said yesterday he hopes to resume his rehab assignment this week. Here's the Mets lineup for tonight: SS Ruben Tejada 2B Daniel Murphy 3B David Wright 1B Ike Davis RF Lucas Duda LF Jason Bay CF Andres Torres C Josh Thole P Chris Young And here's the Nationals lineup, which is without Ian Desmond for the fourth straight day due to the shortstop's sore left oblique: 2B Steve Lombardozzi CF Bryce Harper 3B Ryan Zimmerman 1B Adam LaRoche RF Michael Morse LF Tyler Moore SS Danny Espinosa C Jesus Flores P Jordan Zimmermann
