The 2019 Orioles Pet Calendar, presented by Pet+E.R., is now available for purchase, with all proceeds benefiting the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter, Inc. (BARCS), a nonprofit shelter that accepts and cares for all animals in need.
The 15-month calendar, presented by Pet+E.R. for the fourth consecutive year, features photos of Orioles players with their pets and various BARCS animals. Players who will be featured in this year's calendar include Andrew Cashner, Miguel Castro, Chris Davis Mychal Givens, Adam Jones, Trey Mancini and Tanner Scott, among others. Also featured is right-handed pitcher Alex Cobb, who is photographed with his two dogs, Axel, an American Bulldog, and Oscar, a Terrier mix. Cobb rescued Oscar in 2015 when he found him alone on the side of the highway near the Tampa Bay Rays' Spring Training facility.
The 2019 calendar is available for $15 at Oriole Park, the Orioles Team Store in the York Galleria in York, Pa., and at www.orioles.com/petcalendar.
The largest animal shelter in Maryland, BARCS takes in more than 11,000 dogs and cats and 1,000 wildlife and other small mammals annually. On any given day, BARCS cares for 250 or more dogs and cats in the shelter, and an additional 2,000 animals in foster care each year. The Orioles have helped to raise more than $320,000 for BARCS over the last eight years through the annual Orioles Pet Calendar sales.
