A few notes before today's game

It's Little League Day at Camden Yards and there appear to be zero security concerns as kids circle the field in their uniforms and we await the start of the series finale between the Orioles and Red Sox.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter estimated that shortstop J.J. Hardy will need three or four rehab games before coming off the disabled list. Hardy is shut down until Wednesday after receiving a cortisone injection yesterday in his left shoulder.

The Orioles considered the injection a few days earlier, but Hardy was hopeful that the lingering discomfort would subside.

Reliever Wesley Wright, on the disabled list with a strained left trapezius muscle, will begin throwing this week down in Sarasota.

Hunter Harvey, on the minor league disabled list with a slight fracture of his right fibula, will throw a 25-pitch bullpen session on Wednesday.

The White Sox have adjusted their rotation for the series against the Orioles that begins Monday at Camden Yards, but it still includes Jeff Samardzija and Chris Sale, who received five-game suspensions this weekend.

Ubaldo Jimenez will oppose Hector Noesi on Monday, Chris Tillman will oppose Samardzija on Tuesday and Miguel Gonzalez will oppose Sale on Wednesday.

According to Elias, David Lough is only the second player in franchise history to hit a walk-off home run after entering the game as a pinch-runner. Outfielder Joe Grace was the first on April 26, 1946 with the St. Louis Browns.

That's one day shy of exactly 69 years ago.

Former Orioles catcher Rick Dempsey, now a MASN analyst, didn't seem concerned that a window was broken at his brew pub at Camden Yards during last night's protest.

"It's just one of those kind of things that happened," he said. "I'm not too upset about it, really. A lot more damage could have been done. We got away with a cracked window. Somebody kicked the door and cracked the window. I guess it was a little bit scary for the people that were in there at the time.

"Overall, you kind of understand. Everybody's all fired up and it just happened to be in our area, so, cracked window, we got away with that. I'm happy it wasn't worse than that and that nobody got hurt."

Dempsey found out about the window during the game, though it happened while the teams were taking batting practice.

"My manager called me on the phone and said, 'It's getting a little scary out here right now. I just wanted to know if we were still open for business,'" Dempsey said. " I said, 'Yeah, see if they want to buy a hamburger or something while they're throwing things around. They might get hungry.'

"I walked through the restaurant and it wasn't all that bad. The window's got to be replaced, but outside of that there was nothing."
