Adam Jones and Chris Davis can work their way up the O's all-time homers list

Orioles outfielder Adam Jones and first baseman Chris Davis have already hit a combined 354 home runs as Orioles. They are currently both in the top 10 on the club's all-time homers list.

The Orioles' top 10 home run list:

431 - Cal Ripken Jr.
343 - Eddie Murray
303 - Boog Powell
268 - Brooks Robinson
223 - Rafael Palmeiro
209 - Brady Anderson
193 - Adam Jones
182 - Ken Singleton
179 - Frank Robinson
161 - Chris Davis

Jones is signed for three more seasons, through 2018. Looking at only those future years where he is under contract to be an Oriole for now, if he averaged 30 per year, he would be at 283. That would put him fourth on the all-time list by the end of 2018. If he signs on beyond 2018, second is clearly within his reach, maybe even the top spot.

Davis led the majors with eight multi-homer games in 2015 and has 15 in his career. His eight career homers onto Eutaw Street is the most by any player.

Were Davis to average 30 homers per year over the next seven seasons, through 2022, he would move into second on this list with 371 home runs. He would need to average 39 per season over the length of his new contract to pass Ripken. That would put him at 434.

So we are currently watching two players that could be among some legendary Orioles on that homers list before they play their final games in Baltimore.

Most homers in one season in team history:

53- Chris Davis, 2013
50 - Brady Anderson, 1996
49 - Frank Robinson, 1966
47 - Chris Davis, 2015
46 - Jim Gentile, 1961
43 - Rafael Palmeiro, 1998
40 - Nelson Cruz, 2014
39 - Palmeiro in 1995, 1996 and Boog Powell in 1964

So there have been two 50-homer seasons in club history, seven 40-homer seasons, 17 seasons of 35 or more homers, and 36 seasons of 30 or more homers by an Oriole.
