Andino with inside-the-park home run

That was an eventful bottom of the sixth inning. It started with Vladimir Guerrero setting the hits record for Dominican-born players and included Robert Andino's three-run inside-the-park home run that expanded the Orioles' lead to 6-2 against Boston's Josh Beckett. With his father watching in the stands, Andino sent a towering fly ball to center field with runners on second and third, two outs and the Orioles leading, 3-2, on Chris Davis' second RBI of the night. Jacoby Ellsbury almost made a spectacular running catch on the warning track, but the ball popped loose as he crashed into the fence.

Ellsbury flipped the ball to J.D. Drew, who fired it to Dustin Pedroia, who fired it home. The throw beat Andino, but the ball skipped past catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia. It's the first inside-the-park home run by an Oriole in Camden Yards history, and the first for the Orioles since Adam Jones on May 22, 2010 in Washington. It's the first against the Red Sox since Adrian Beltre on July 23, 2006. Guerrero scored the tying run after bouncing his historic single into center field and stealing second base. Mark Reynold walked with two outs and Davis doubled to give the Orioles a 3-2 lead. Andino followed with his fifth home run of the season. If Beckett loses tonight, it will be the first time in his career that he's lost back-to-back starts to the Orioles. He also was beaten on Sept. 21 in Boston. This is Beckett's 18th career start against them.
