Another artist rendering of future Potomac Nationals stadium

The high Single-A Potomac Nationals conducted their 18th annual Hot Stove Banquet on Sunday night. At the banquet, P-Nats owner and chairman/CEO Art Silber unveiled more details regarding the new stadium to be built for the team in Prince William County at the Potomac Town Center. PNatsCFarea.jpgThe artist's rendering showed the classic aerial view of the stadium from right field and several shots of the concourse area that include the exclusive club and suites levels, a wraparound party deck with views of the Potomac River, impressive sightlines and open feel of the planned ballpark. The club level will be a year-round sports bar with views of the ballpark, river and Potomac Town Center. The new stadium will also have pay homage to Griffith Stadium, the former home of the Washington Senators. In center field, there will be a crab shack with steamed crabs, a beer garden, broad plazas and a playground for kids. "The ballpark is incredibly exciting and its design and features will make it the finest sports venue in the greater Washington area," Silber said in a team-issues press release. No details as to when they will break ground on the project, but the stadium is expected to be ready for the 2015 season. The team is still negotiating naming rights and founding partner deals that will be announced at a later date. But the bottom line is this stadium will be state-of-the-art and a jewel in the Nationals' system, a project Silber has been working on for years to replace the outdated Pfitzner Stadium in Woodbridge, Va.
