Another day, another issue for the Orioles

It's almost as if the baseball gods don't want O's fans to be able to enjoy the good start to this season. Win some games and then watch Jeremy Guthrie deal with a form of pneumonia. See a great comeback win over Detroit. Send Brian Roberts to the hospital with stomach pain. J.J Hardy, he came up with tightness in his side, an issue he's never had before. Watch two pitchers get hit by line drives. This is getting crazy at this point. Hopefully the issues with Roberts and Hardy will be minor and they will return to the lineup soon. But if the O's had played tonight, they would have done it without their middle infield. It's almost seems as if a dark cloud hovers over this team. Tonight the cloud brought rain. Tomorrow, maybe the clouds will part and let the O's play two against Texas. It sets up an exciting day of two games with Zach Britton and Jake Arrieta on the mound. Two young O's pitchers taking on a hot-hitting club that has yet to lose. Maybe before too long Guthrie, Matusz, Roberts, Hardy and Duchscherer and anyone else dealing with issues will all be healthy and available to the team. They've been doing a good job despite the issues with an AL East leading 5-1 mark. Let's leave this on an up note so here's another positive Buck Showalter and Orioles stat. Since Showalter took over the Orioles are 16-4 in the first game of a series. An amazing 80 percent win rate. Before he took over last year, they were 9-25 in series openers.
