Bordick and Bancells set to enter O's Hall of Fame (with Buck audio)

The latest class of the Orioles Hall of Fame will be inducted here tonight in a pregame ceremony at Camden Yards as Mike Bordick and Richie Bancells join a list that includes Cal Ripken Sr. and Jr., Brooks and Frank Robinson, Jim Palmer and 58 others. Bordick played with the Orioles from 1996 to 2000 and again in 2001 and 2002. His .987 fielding percentage is the best ever by an O's shortstop. He now works for the Orioles as a minor league instructor. Here is what Buck Showalter said about him before tonight's game: "I was such a fan of Bordy's as player and now I know exactly why he had the success he did. He's been great with our minor league guys and he's not a sympathetic ear, he's the voice of reality. I love him, he's going to be a star in coaching, managing, anything he wants to do." This season marks his 24th as the Orioles head athletic trainer and his 35th year in the organization. In 2008 he was inducted into the Maryland Athletic Trainers Association Hall of Fame. Here is what Showalter said about Bancells: "I'm fascinated by the some of the things he says and I run a lot of things by him. We're lucky to have him.
