Boston uses the longball to edge O's, 6-5

Jeremy Guthrie continued to give up home runs tonight and the Orioles continued their season-long struggles vs. Boston. The Red Sox hit three homers off Guthrie in a 6-5 win over the O's on Friday night in front of 44,091 at Camden Yards. The O's fall to 2-9 on the season vs. Boston. Aubrey Huff hit his 200th career homer, a two-run shot in the last of the 6th to give Baltimore a 5-4 lead. But in the 7th, a Kevin Youkilis two-on, two-out homer put Boston on top 6-5. Earlier, David Ortiz hit a two-run homer and Jacoby Ellsbury, who had three hits, hit a solo shot. Guthrie, now 7-10, 5.37, gave up nine hits and six runs in 6 2/3 innings. He has now given up 26 homers on the season. Winning pitcher John Smoltz, 2-4, gave up five runs over six innings. Jonathon Papelbon got the last three outs for his 27th save. Nolan Reimold and Huff hit two-run homers for the Orioles, who fall to 4-10 since the All-Star break. Bost.......6-11-2 Balt........5-9-0
