While Zach Britton is holding the Yankees to an unearned run through five innings tonight, brother Buck has hit a two-run homer for Single-A Frederick. Buck had five RBIs last Thursday while Zach was throwing nine scoreless innings. The Yankees scored in the fourth on Alex Rodriguez's leadoff single - the ball snuck under shortstop J.J. Hardy's glove as he ranged in the hole - an error by Robert Andino and sacrifice fly by Nick Swisher. Rodriguez was picked off second, but Andino couldn't handle Britton's throw. The ball went into center field, and Rodriguez advanced to third base. Markakis caught Swisher's fly ball in medium right, but his throw was too far up the third base line. Markakis has one of the most accurate arms I've ever seen, but he's been off the mark lately. Britton has thrown 74 pitches in five innings, including 42 for strikes. He struck out Curtis Granderson to end the fifth and strand Derek Jeter, but he needed eight pitches to do it. Nolan Reimold hit his sixth home run tonight for Triple-A Norfolk, a two-run shot that raised his RBI total to 21. Rhyne Hughes is starting at first base again while Brandon Snyder is here. Single-A Delmarva's Mike Flacco has two hits tonight, giving him six in two nights. I'm sure you remember that Single-A Frederick center fielder Trent Mummey, the fourth-round pick out of Auburn, suffered a concussion after diving into the fence during a May 4 game at Harry Grove Stadium. He's still "a ways away" from playing, according to director of player development John Stockstill. "He's feeling much better, but I would say it's an undetermined amount of time," Stockstill said. "The original plan was about three to four weeks before doing a status check at that point."
