Cardinals make themselves comfortable at Camden Yards

So far, the St. Louis Cardinals are enjoying their first-ever trip to Baltimore. They won 6-2 last night by taking a 3-0 lead in the second inning and they took a 2-0 lead tonight in inning two. Colby Rasmus hit a two-run homer off Chris Jakubauskas to start the St. Louis scoring. It was his second homer of the series, his third in four games and his eighth on the year. Skip Schumaker's RBI single in the third extended their lead to 3-0 and a sac fly by Lance Berkman made it 4-0. It could have been worse but Jakubauskas got a double play ball to end the top of the third. Orioles' starting pitchers are struggling now. Over the last 11 games, the starters have just one quality start and an ERA of 5.52. And that was before tonight. St. Louis was a struggling team when they hit town, having lost five of the last six and 12 of 15 before this series. The slump had taken them from first in the National League Central, leading the division by 2.5 games to three back before Tuesday's game. In getting swept three straight by Toronto over the weekend, St. Louis had scored seven total runs. They have 10 in the first 12 innings in Baltimore. The Cards are 5-5 this year against the American League and 114-101 all-time in interleague games, the second-best win percentage by all NL teams, trailing only Florida. The Orioles this year are 10-18 against the AL East, but 25-23 against everyone else in baseball. They will have to come from behind to pull this one out tonight.
