Catchers making good progress in early camp work

Nationals catchers are making good progress in early camp, according to Single-A Hagerstown manager Patrick Anderson.

Raudy Read has been working in major league camp while Wilson Ramos recovered from LASIK eye surgery.

Jakson Reetz has battled through a wrist injury from last year and got hit in the jaw with a ball during instructional league in October.

Matt Reistetter and Jorge Tillero have worked a lot in early camp. Tillero has done a nice job calling pitches, while Reistetter is a lefty bat.

Pedro Severino has already played in four games with the Nationals during spring training. Last season, he played in four spring training games and had one at-bat. This season Severino is already 4-for-7 (.571) with two doubles, three runs and an RBI. He has walked once and has not struck out yet.

The early camp game schedule begins March 14 and 15 with home and away matchups against Mets early campers.
