The Orioles' rotation has undergone another change.
Left-hander Wei-Yin Chen will start Monday night against the White Sox at Camden Yards. Chris Tillman, whose start today was rained out, will take the ball Tuesday.
The Orioles haven't announced starters for Wednesday or Thursday, but left-hander Joe Saunders figures to make his Orioles debut after Tillman. Miguel Gonzalez, who had been listed as Tuesday's starter, or left-hander Zach Britton could start on Thursday.
The Orioles have a surplus of starters on their roster, including Steve Johnson and Jake Arrieta, who joined the team today as the bullpen replacement for Matt Lindstrom.
The Orioles could return Arrieta to Triple-A Norfolk, where he had been scheduled to start Tuesday, to make room for Saunders on the 25-man roster. Johnson is another candidate to be optioned despite turning in his second quality start last night.
Stay tuned.
The tarp is coming off the field, but it's too late. Today's game won't be played.
I wanted to pass along two corrections from earlier today:
Saunders is a free agent after this season, according to an Orioles official. Baseball-Reference.com lists him as having another year of arbitration, but that's no longer the case.
Also, my sister bought the tie that I wore today on "O's Xtra." I'm so used to my parents dressing me, I totally forgot. Sorry, sis.
